The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, said on Friday that 40 million Sehat Insaf Cards will be given in 36 districts of Punjab between December 31, 2021 and March 20, 2022.
He presided over a meeting to discuss the distribution of the cards throughout the province, and he was informed that a large public awareness campaign to encourage people to make greater use of the health insurance facility will be started in the near future to this end.
Members of his Special Assistants’ teams, Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Shahbaz Gill, as well as Punjab’s Minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Health Taimur Saleem Jhagra, were present at the meeting, as were senior officers.
The premier stated that universal health coverage is a critical component of the government’s programme and instructed the relevant authorities to use all available resources to ensure that the project is successfully completed.
His Health Ministers were also instructed to provide sufficient counselling to recipients, including illiterate individuals in particular, as well as to provide uniform health facilities to the underprivileged.
