Ahead of announcing the results in all 45 electoral districts, PTI camp celebrations erupted following a simple majority in Sunday’s general election in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Though the results were pending from 5 voting stations, unofficial figures revealed that PTI led 25, PPP second, 9 and PML-N third, 6.
Both the People’s Party of Jammu and Kashmir (JKPP) and the Muslim All Jammu and Kashmir Conference (AJKMC) have each won a seat.
While the AJK Election Commission stated everything had gone well, the election day was marred by violence, which witnessed the deaths of two people when parties challenged.
Soon following the election at 5pm, the information minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed an early PTI victory in the tehsils Pind Dadan Khan and Khewra.
