- Ali Muhammad Khan Arrested While Heading Towards Supreme Court
In the ongoing crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan, two more party leaders have been arrested in Islamabad. Ali Muhammad Khan and Senator Ejaz Chaudhry were taken into custody under Section 3 Maintenance Public Ordinance (MPO) on Thursday.
Ali Muhammad Khan was arrested while heading towards the Supreme Court, where the hearing against Imran Khan’s arrest is underway. The latest arrests come after the detention of PTI leaders Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry a day earlier, while Shah Mehmoood Qureshi was also detained earlier today under the same act.
The crackdown has intensified after Imran Khan’s arrest, with authorities accusing the PTI leaders of inciting violence and disrupting law and order. The opposition has called it a move to suppress dissent and political opposition in the country.
With tensions high, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days, and whether the crackdown will continue.
