PTA issues new VPN deadline

Once again, the PTA has did warn that it is against PTA rules to use Virtual Private Networks (VPN). Any other method of communication that can hide or encrypt communication (VPNs). An earlier warning from the PTA is very similar to this one.

In the public notice, the group in charge of rules said that it made the registration process easier to follow by making it simpler. Organizations in the public and private sectors, foreign missions. Independent contractors who need to use VPNs for legal reasons became told that they must register their VPNs by October 31 in order to keep their services running smoothly. As the message says, you can now only apply for registration online.

Virtual private networks (VPNs) are becoming more and more popular as a way to keep sensitive information safe and stay anonymous while traveling across the Internet. Kaspersky Lab, a security company, says this makes it harder for hackers to spy on a person’s online activities. Steal their personal information.

As of June 30, 2020, all Internet users need to sign up for a VPN with the PTA. Telecom regulator at the time said that the action was taken to make sure that telecom customers are indeed safe. Encourage the legal use of ICT services in Pakistan.

The PTA says that registering VPN is not a new thing and has going on since at least 2010.
