According to a royal specialist, Prince William found another motherly figure in Kate Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton.
Rachael Andrews, a royal podcast host, told OK! Magazine that the Prince of Wales looks up to his mother-in-law after not having a mother figure for most of his adult life. He “admires” how she raised Kate and her other children, James and Pippa Middleton.
Andrews: “We’ve observed that Prince William gets along well with them (the Middletons) throughout the years.”
“He admires the way Carole and Michael raised Catherine, Pippa, and James (Kate’s siblings),” she said.
“He lost Diana when he was young and presumably looks up to Carole because he’s lacked a mother figure for so long,” the podcast host said. With Carole and Michael, he has non-monarchy confidants.
Prince William and Kate dated for a decade before marrying in 2011; they met in university.
The Waleses have three children, George, Louis, and Charlotte, and have been married for nearly a decade.
