According to accounts, the individual who heckled Prince Andrew during Queen Elizabeth’s burial procession will not face justice.
A 22-year-old man was charged with breach of peace in September after he jeered at the disgraced Duke of York in Edinburgh.
The man was arrested and charged at the time, but the Crown Office said he won’t face court after being offered “an alternative to prosecution.”
Alternatives include warnings, community work orders, fines, and compensations; however, the Crown Office did not comment on this case.
Prosecutors also stated that a woman arrested for carrying an anti-monarchy placard would not face charges.
The Crown Office said that on September 11, 2022, the procurator fiscal got a report about a 22-year-old woman and an event.
“After considering the case’s facts and admissible evidence, the procurator fiscal decided not to proceed.” The Crown reserves the right to proceed if it’s in the public interest.
