Prices of ghee and oil have risen in utility stores ahead of Ramadan

Ghee and oil prices rose at utility stores across the country ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, according to a statement released.

The price of cooking oil increased from 6 to 9 rupees per liter, while the ghee increased by 7 rupees per kg. The Utility Stores has raised prices for ghee and oil, the announcement said, with revised prices taking effect immediately.

It is worth noting that the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics found in a recent report that inflation in the country reached a seven-month high, rising to 9.05% in March.

Last month, according to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan banned authorities interested in raising prices for ghee at supply stores across the country. After the prime minister rejected the price increase, the finance minister also supported the prime minister’s decision, according to sources.
