Price of petrol increase 2.70 Rupees by government

Price of petrol was raised by Rs. 2.70 per liter which brings the new tariff at Rs. 111.9 per liter while the price of diesel was increased by Rs. 2.88 per liter which brings the new tariff to Rs. 116.07 per liter.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, light diesel will also raise the price by 3 rupees per liter, while high speed diesel will be 2.88 rupees more expensive.

Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices increased by Rs. 3.54 per liter and Rs. 3 per liter, at new speeds each of up to Rs. 80.19 per liter and Rs. 79.23 per liter.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) initially recommended an increase of Rs.13.18 per liter for petrol prices, while a hike was offered Rs 12.12 Rupees per liter of diesel price. However, the prime minister rejected the proposed increase.

The new petrol prices will remain in effect until February 15, 2021.
