President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged for more facilitation of cross-border trade with adjacent countries in order to increase exports and offer employment opportunities for people living in or near Balochistan’s border areas.
Reports say he provided remarks while chairing a follow-up conference in Gwadar on border and trade management in Balochistan, which was broadcast on radio station Radio Pakistan.
The president requested that the authorities in charge completely equip the existing border stations by updating the road infrastructure, providing telecommunication facilities, and establishing banking channels at the border crossing locations, among other things.
He directed that the challenges that traders from Balochistan’s border areas were experiencing be rectified as soon as possible on a priority basis.
President Arif Alvi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to alleviating Balochistan’s sense of deprivation and bringing the province to a level with the other regions of the country.

President Alvi stated on December 13 that students in the province had a wonderful opportunity to influence the fate of their country by equipping themselves with the most up-to-date knowledge and information technology skills.
Aiwan-e-Sadr, during an interactive session with students and faculty members of Balochistan Residential College, Khuzdar, encouraged students to concentrate on their studies and to play a role in the development of their country.
