In response to a controversial comment by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur regarding the non-release of funding to local bodies in the KPK, a Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) has urged that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) take notice of the statement.
“If our opponents win, they will not be permitted to visit the government office or get government cash because the minister responsible for local government bodies is my brother,” says the candidate. According to reports, Gandapur said this during an electoral rally.
Shazia Marri, the PPPP’s Central Information Secretary, claimed that Gandpur had threatened not to give cash for local bodies’ institutes if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-competitors Insaaf’s were elected to local bodies in the next elections.
In his statement, Marri claimed that the KPK provincial government was attempting to exert influence over the upcoming local bodies elections because it was in charge of the province’s affairs and that this would be the worst possible example of interfering with the process of free and fair elections.

She claimed that Ali Amin Gandapur began playing dirty games after foreseeing the defeat of Umar Amin, who was Ali Amin’s brother, and that this was the cause of his behavior.
Marri claimed that the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was unable to sleep peacefully because of the popularity of Faisal Karim Kundi in Dera Ismail Khan.
The head of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPPP) further urged that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declare Umar Amin disqualified for harassing voters and prohibit Ali Amin Gandapur from entering Dera Ismail Khan.
The abrupt appointment of Faisal Amin Gandapur as provincial minister for local government bodies in KPK, while his brother Umar Amin is running for the position in the next elections, has also drawn criticism.
