Senate Panel Suggest Power-Sharing Formula For Afghanistan

At a Senate Panel briefing on Friday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan will propose for Afghanistan a power-sharing or stabilization formula avoid civil-war conditions and prevent any other significant events linked to terror and area instability.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was briefed by the Senate members of the Standing Foreign Committee, stated that the main incoming resources of Afghan refugees were already managed by Pakistan and that they were not able to address additional instability.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated and added that they even want three million refugees to return to their homes in Pakistan today. “Here, as they will stay in the nation, we don’t want Afghans.” Shah Mahmood Qureshi warned further that TTP may potentially enhance its impact and activities, causing a massive blow to Pakistan by crossing the border with the Afghan Taliban.

He added that Turkey has a significant and critical role to play in the Afghan peace process and said that the peace process in Istanbul would have better ideas to take. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that a better relationship was established on the Pakistani side with Iran and border markets for improving economic links between the two parties.

Moeed Jusuf indicated during the discussion he wanted to halt the bloodshed in Afghanistan in order to avoid any backlash against Pakistani land, he claimed. He was the national security adviser (NSA). He further cautioned that if the entry of refugees was not prevented, TTP militants may arrive disguised in Pakistan.
