The Punjab Bar Council (PBC), along with four others, on charges of assault by Shahzadi Nargis, the widow of former governor Nawab Akbar Bugti of Balochistan, suspended the licence from Hassaan Khan Niazi, the nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The PBC Vice President Amjad Iqbal Khan took the judgement while hearing a complaint lodged against Niazi by the counsel of Nargis, Mohammad Ayaz Butt.
A copy of the order indicates that his permission to exercise as a lawyer was suspended and on 17 July, the issue was submitted to the executive committee of the Bar Council for further action in the face of “severe allegations” against Niazi.
In response to the suspension, Niazi stated that “without listening to me in an ex-partisan hearing,” the Punjab Bar Council suspended its licence”

Last Monday, Niazi and four unnamed individuals were recorded on the complaint of Nargis under different accusations of tentative murder.
At the FIR, she stated that she was abused by Niazi and his complices before the court of her lawyer Syed Ali Abbaas, and then tried to strangle her in order to take her life in a supplemental district.
Nargis said that in a false case against her, she came in court to seek release from Lahore, the Federal Investigation Agency’s crime circle.
As she appeared with her counsel before the additional district, Niazi exchanged heated words with her before hurling abuses, she alleged.
The plaintiff further said in the FIR that the assailants and his accomplices attacked them and tortured them in court when their counsel interfered. The lawyers included Niazi. Niazi claimed that the CCTV film could be reviewed, rendering the accusation unfounded.
