PML-N criticizes PPP for ‘ruining’ Sindh

PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday criticized the PPP for “ruining” Sindh province, a day after former president Asif Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto paid a visit to Shehbaz Sharif’s home in Model Town Lahore.

The former prime minister, speaking at a public gathering in Sindh’s Sanghar district, criticized the PPP-led Sindh government for disregarding rural regions of the province that lack basic requirements of life.

“The Pakistan People’s Party has ruled Sindh province for 14 years but has failed to give basic necessities to the people of Sindh,” he claimed, adding that the PPP has ruined Sindh’s health, education, and other institutions.

“PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif created a network of roads in Sindh while he was the country’s prime minister,” he claimed, adding that despite the PPP’s 14-year rule, Sindh lacks teachers and health services.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also chastised the PPP on the Sindh LG Act, emphasizing the importance of establishing a local bodies (LBs) system in which local governments, not MNAs or MPAs, held complete authority.

In the next general elections, Abbasi claims that the PML-N will win important seats in Sindh, including Sanghar.

Despite their disagreements, he claimed, all opposition groups were on the same page when it came to ousting the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Miftah Ismail, the secretary-general of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Sindh and a former finance minister, also criticized the PPP-led Sindh government for wrecking the province.

It’s worth noting that PML-N officials’ recent criticism of the PPP came just a day after former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had lunch with Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.

Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, were also present during the meeting.

In the Parliament, leaders from both parties reviewed the country’s political condition, the anti-government movement, and future strategy.
