PM Imran visits Pakistan’s World Cup team today

Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet with Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2021 team in order to boost the players’ self-confidence after their rejection by the English and New Zealand Cricket Boards, respectively.

As reported by several news outlets, today’s national team meeting for the Twenty20 World Cup will take place at PM House at 4 p.m. Since the recent postponement of the visit by New Zealand and England, the cricket players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation.

Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, will also be present at the meeting and will inform the prime minister about his talks with the leaders of the cricket boards in England and New Zealand.

A briefing will be provided to the premier by the newly appointed Chairman, who made no attempt to hide his emotions in a video clip after England was forced to cancel their October tour. The newly appointed Chairman will also provide an update on the new strategy adopted by the board officials to deal with the current situation, as well as the new domestic schedule.

According to reports, Raja will brief the prime minister on the new reforms implemented by the cricket board, while Khan, who won the 1992 World Cup, would share his experiences and provide advice to the players in order to improve their morale during the next tournament.

On Tuesday, Information Minister Fawad Chauhdry announced that legal experts would be retained to take legal action against the cricket boards of both countries after they cancelled tours at the last minute, resulting in the loss of millions of rupees to the state broadcaster in addition to the tour cancellations.

In order to bring legal action against the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZCB), legal discussions would be conducted with attorneys (NZC).
