PM Imran order to review of complaints on Citizen Portal

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the reopening and review of 0.238 million public complaints submitted through the Pakistan Citizen Portal, as well as the holding of reviews in these matters under their supervision for merit-based resolution.

According to a letter shared by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing on Saturday, a total of 1.5 million complaints were received on the Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) in 2021, but a set of 238,098 complaints were earmarked for reopening to the respective authorities for review and better resolution while adhering to merit-based on public feedback.

The prime minister has directed the federal secretaries, provincial chief secretaries, and inspector generals of police to hold private meetings with department heads, divisional commissioners, RPOs, and other relevant officials, and to assign the respective caseload of reopened complaints to them, with specific instructions to review them under their supervision and dispose of them on the merits.

It was also said that the review’s goal should not be to simply increase good comments but to actually resolve difficulties while sticking to the merit, rules, and laws.

“A senior officer will be provided with responsibility in the case of an organization/department/formation to supervise the review activities at all levels,” it was noted.

There were a total of 11,4918 complaints that were directed to be reopened/reviewed, with 123,182 other situations in which partial relief was recommended.

Complaints that were chosen for reopening in the first category were those that had been closed with the designation relief given,’ but that citizens had denied by leaving negative comments.

The other set of complaints that were chosen for reopening/review belonged to the category of partial relief. The contents of the letter said that they warranted either updating citizens on additional progress in their cases if necessary or forwarding the same if it entailed the role of any other department organizations.

According to the PM’s office, 107,000 of the total complaints were connected to federal ministries, with 80,000 to Punjab, 27,000 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,000 to Sindh, 3,000 to Balochistan, 11,000 to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 400 to Gilgit-Baltistan being reviewed further.

On PCP, citizens have submitted concerns about municipal services, power and gas, communications, and education.
