PM Imran Khan travel to Russia visit on 23 Feb

In response to a personal invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Imran Khan will travel to Russia on February 23 for a two-day first official visit.

Several members of the federal cabinet will accompany the prime minister on his trip to Russia, according to a timetable issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the sources, during the visit, agreements on cooperation in a variety of industries, including business, energy, industry, and production, would be signed.

When they meet at the Summit, the two leaders will go over the entire range of bilateral relations, including energy cooperation.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan and Russia have friendly relations characterized by mutual respect, trust, and convergence of views on a wide range of international and regional issues.

“The Prime Minister Imran Khan visit will assist to the further growth of the comprehensive Pakistan-Russia bilateral relationship as well as the enhancement of mutual collaboration in a wide range of fields,” the statement continued. “

The last time a democratically elected Pakistani prime minister visited Russia was in March 1999, when then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid a state visit to the country. Since then, the Russian president and Pakistani prime minister have held a number of casual one-on-one meetings at various international conferences.
