PM Imran Khan is expected to visit to Russia this month

Prime Leader Imran Khan will go on a bilateral visit to Russia in the last week of this month, marking the first time in 23 years that a Pakistani prime minister will visit Russia.

The visit by Prime Minister Khan to Russia this month is being organized at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of cabinet ministers from his own party, the Conservatives. According to reliable sources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make the specifics of this visit public as soon as they become available.

During Prime Minister Khan’s visit, the focus will be on expanding bilateral cooperation in the areas of the economy, commerce, defense, and energy production.

During the term of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the last time an elected Pakistani prime minister paid a bilateral visit to Russia was in March 1999 during his stint as prime minister.

Since then, the Russian president and Pakistani prime minister have held a number of casual one-on-one meetings at various conferences and forums.

In addition, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken on the phone several times in recent months.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday last month, during which he praised Putin for making an “emphatic” remark on blasphemy.

In a tweet, the prime minister said he had just spoken with President Putin “mainly to express my thanks for his strong remark that freedom of expression could not be used as a justification to disrespect our Prophet PBUH.”

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, stated that they also discussed how to move forward on trade and other forms of mutually beneficial collaboration between the two countries, and that they asked each other to visit their respective countries.
