Pledging to collaborate with all opposition parties: Gillani

Opposition Senate leader Yousaf Raza Gilani has promised to work with all opposition parties during Saturday’s first Senate session since his election.

Although the opposition still had a clear majority over the ruling treasury led by the PTI, it split sharply after the PPP notified Gilani, with support from the ruling coalition partner, the Awami Balochistan Party, as the leader of the opposition.

As a result of this development, the PDM has started expelling the PPP and the Awami National Party for violating their consensus decision and has received support from the government alliance to elect their candidate as leader of the opposition.

He said he would work with all opposition parties and speak on behalf of the government if necessary. Yousaf Raza Gillani said he is running for the Senate with PDM backing and will accompany the opposition in Senate sessions.

“PDM has become a forum for women, minorities, and other civil rights. We are here to serve the greater good, and it is our responsibility to represent the people.” Gillani said
