Even though the production of the PlayStation 5 Slim is having trouble keeping up with demand, a recent report from The Leak suggests that Sony is planning to release a new version of the system soon. Reports say that the PS5 Slim will come out in 2023, though Sony may not use the term “slim” this time.
Though it won did call “slim,” those in the know say it will make the PS5 smaller. Die shrinking is the process by which its physical size does reduce.
This way, it will become easier to move around than before, use less energy, that have better thermals. All of the updates that are did make to the standard PS5 are also included. Because of this, Sony was unable to make the console’s chassis smaller. Also, the PS5’s cumbersome stand for putting it on its side isn’t necessary.

Shipping and making costs are sometimes lower if the product is smaller and lighter. Eventually, the older PlayStation 5 Slim model then does replace with the new one. According to the leak, Sony plans to start making the “PS5 Slim” in Q2 2023. Which suggests that it will come out sometime in Q3 2023. This is still quite a ways away.
A lot of gamers are hoping that the current generation of consoles will get a mid-season power boost like the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. But this will not happen. The PlayStation 5 Slim won’t focus on making games run better. But rather on making them easier to use and more efficient.
This is a natural progression since the first PlayStation 4 came out in 2013 and the PS4 Pro came out in 2016. In a similar way, the PS5 came out in 2020, so a new one is long overdue.
