PITB to Install IoT Devices In Lahore

According to a press release from the Punjab Information Technology Council (PITB), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Chirp Technologies at Harp Software Technology Park to make Lahore a smart city.

The two companies will work together to develop and build the Propriety LoRa infrastructure for IoT device connectivity in Lahore.

This network is used to control and monitor smart city applications such as garbage sensors, street light sensors, air quality sensors, mobility applications, and other real-time smart city applications.

In the presence of other officials, the General Manager of PITB, Mr. Faisal Yousaf, and the Executive Director of Chirp Technologies, Mr. Asif Hussain, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Lora (short for long-distance) is an advanced spectrum modulation technique based on chirp (CSS). Chirp Technologies’ LoRa device and high-frequency wireless technology is a low-power, long-range wireless platform that has become the de-facto technology for Internet of Things (IoT) networks worldwide.
