The Pakistan Cricket Council (PCB) has decided to cut the salaries of players who will compete in the upcoming sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the spread of the coronavirus pandemic causes financial bottlenecks, The News International reported.
According to reports, PCB will cut 20% to 25% from the previous salary cap for PSL 6, which is reported to be from February 20 to March 22 next year.

The total player budget for each team, which was approximately $ 1.2 million (approximately 184 million PKR) last year, will be reduced to $ 950.00 (or 152 million PKR) for the upcoming series.
It is recommended that the salary limit for the highest category of the tournament, platinum, is between $ 130,000 and $ 170,000. Previously, platinum players received between $ 147,000 and $ 217,000.

Players in the diamond category for the PSL 6 will likely earn around $ 60,000 to $ 85,000, while players in the gold category will earn a maximum of $ 50,000 for the season.
PSL 6 will only take place in two cities, including Karachi and Lahore. The final date and location for the series has not been agreed upon. Games must be played behind closed doors and players remain in a tight biosecurity bubble throughout the tournament.
Each team consists of 18 players in a team consisting of three platinum, three diamonds, three gold, five silver, two rookies and two other players.
