In a neo-black sexual thriller Basic Instinct, filmmaker Paul Verhoeven has rejected the assertion of star Sharon Stone, that she was “tricked” into revealing nudity at the fore.
Stone had stated in her memoir beforehand that the director warned her that the light was badly reflected in her underwear and was ordered to remove it. Stone said, however, that the picture will feature frontal nudity.
In a subsequent interview, Verhoeven said, “My recall differs dramatically from that of Sharon. This is not in the way that she depicted Catherine Tramell and has nothing to do with it.”
