On Tuesday, General Qamar Javed Bajwa the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) stated that Pakistan stands with the Afghan population and will do everything it can to achieve a settlement for Afghanistan.
A statement of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that an eight-man Afghan delegation met at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, with Gen Bajwa.
The COAS discussed in detail the present situation in Afghanistan during its meeting with the Afghan delegation.
The Afghan delegation recognized and praised the sacrifices, efforts, and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces to Afghanistan’s peace, stability and socioeconomic growth.
The COAS claimed that Pakistan wants “wide ties” with Afghanistan and added that Pakistan is “ready to do everything it can” to achieve a “all-inclusive settlement.”
The Chief of Army Staff, Gen Bajwa said that “regional peace and prosperity are essential to resolution.”
