Pakistan reports 2,060 new COVID infections

Pakistan has reported 2,060 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, while 42 individuals have died as a result of the virus, according to the National Command and Operation Center on Saturday.

Following the release of the most recent figures, the death toll from the devastating virus has risen to 27,524 people, while the number of confirmed cases has increased to 1,236,888 people.

As many as 10,928 individuals have recovered from the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of patients who have recovered to 1,157,322. In the week ending on Saturday, the total number of active cases had been recorded at 52,042, with the positive ratio having decreased to 4.58 percent.

Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in at least 454,510 cases in Sindh, 427,583 cases in Punjab, 172,766 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 104,913 cases in Islamabad. Other provinces with confirmed coronavirus infections include Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, 12,535 people have lost their lives as a result of the outbreak in the province of Punjab. Sindh has 7,327 soldiers, KP has 5,488 soldiers, Islamabad has 910 soldiers, Azad Kashmir has 734 soldiers, Balochistan has 346 soldiers, and Gilgit Baltistan has 184 soldiers.

Health facilities across the country performed 44,958 coronavirus detection tests, bringing the total number of COVID-19 tests performed since the first case was reported to 19,147,075 since the virus was discovered.
