The Foreign Office stated when Afghanistan reminded its ambassador and other diplomatic personnel in Islamabad of the alleged kidnappings and disbanding of the daughter of the Afghan Ambassador to Islamabad, Pakistan likewise contacted its ambassador in Afghanistan for ‘consultation.’
In reaction to the purported kidnapping in Islamabad of the Ambassador’s daughter, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kabul has received an action by the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
According to the FO, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul, arrived on Sunday night in Islamabad. He will address the subject with the Secretary of State at the Foreign Office. The status of the currently postponed Afghan peace summit will also be discussed.
The alleged kidnapping was reported only a day after the Afghan president held Pakistan accountable for violence in Afghanistan during his conference in Uzbekistan. In his address, Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed President Ashraf Ghani in particular and said it was ‘extremely unfair’ to blame Islamabad for making every effort to guarantee peace in his neighbourhood.
