As the security situation in the neighboring nation worsened, Pakistan provisionally closed its border crossing with Afghanistan on Thursday, Balochistan Province.
Sources said that, after claims from the Afghan Taliban that it is taking over an important Spin Boldak border crossing in Afghanistan, a crossing of the Chaman border with Afghanistan has been closed by the Interior Ministry.
For all trading activity and pedestrian movement, the Chaman border has been closed, claimed sources.
The Government of Pakistan has chosen to host important Afghan officials to engage in peace negotiations to speed up the intra-Afghan peace process, after the hurried withdrawal of US forces from the war-torn nation.
