According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), Pakistan recorded 95 coronavirus deaths in the previous 24 hours as its greatest single day toll during the fourth wave.
Data from NCOC indicated that Saturday recorded 4 720 new cases and 95 deaths. The risk of infection rose to 8.24%. There are recorded at least 4,745 cases on Friday and 67 deaths.
Sindh has been under lockdown, with partial lockdowns enforced by other provinces, till August 8, Sunday and strengthened the public mobility restrictions.
NCOC chairman Asad Umar has claimed in a tweet that 21% received at least one dose of the vaccination four weeks ago of the 27.2 million Pakistanis aged 50 or above. Now the figure is 33%.
He stated this is the most susceptible age group. Over 30 million individuals have been immunised to far.
