Pakistan earned $503.910 million by exporting various transport services in different countries during the first ten months of the fiscal year 2021, compared to last year.
This is a 24.46 percent reduction from the US $667.040 million received from service provision during the same time of fiscal year (2019-20), according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
However, exports of marine transport services grew by 56.56 percent during the time under review, rising from the US $ 44.250 million last year to the US $ 69.280 million during the period under review.
The exports of freight services climbed by 1.37 percent from the US $27.780 million last year to the US $ 28.160 million this year, while exports of other marine transport services surged by 149.67 percent from the US $ 16.470 million to the US $ 41.120 million this year, according to PBS statistics.
However, air transport exports fell by 29 percent.
By dropping from the US $ 582.190 million last year to the US $ 410.680 million from July to April, the company cut its losses by 46 percent (2020-21).
Among air transport services, exports of passenger services decreased 33.25 percent, from $399.220 million to $266.480 million, while exports of cargo services increased 11.07 percent, from $23.3 billion to $25.880 million, in addition, exports of other air transport services decreased 25.90 percent from $159,670 million to $118,320 million.
Meanwhile, exports of trucking services during the review period witnessed a 46.66 percent decline, falling from $29.210 million to $15.580 million this year, he added.
Among road transport services, exports of freight services declined 59.60 percent, from $29.210 million to $11.8 billion during the fiscal year under review, while exports of postal and courier services also declined by 26 percent, 51 percent, from $11.390 million to $8.370 million, revealed the data.
