Pakistan Army wants to benefit from German expertise: COAS

The Chief of Staff (COAS), Chamber General Yaved Baiva, paid an official visit to Germany on Friday to speak with Bundeswehr leaders on issues of mutual interest.

According to a message from Interdepartmental Public Relations (ISPR), COAS summoned the Chair of the Bundeswehr, General Eberhard Zorn, during the visit.

Dr. Detlef Wachter, Director General of Security and Defense Policy at the Federal Ministry of Defense, was present in the case.

The meeting discussed issues of common interest, regional security situation, defense and security cooperation, and bilateral cooperation in various fields.

According to COAS, the Pakistani army wants to expand bilateral defense cooperation to take advantage of Germany’s experience in training and technological advances. This will have a positive impact on both bilateral relations between the two countries and regional security.

German dignitaries also welcomed Pakistan’s role in peace and security in the region, Pakistan’s military efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism and to achieve peace and stability in the region, in particular Pakistan’s role in the Afghan peace process.

Prior to that, COAS also laid a wreath at the memorial when he arrived at the Ministry of Defense and was presented by a savvy military contingent with a guard of honor.
