On Friday, Pakistan welcomed the adoption of the resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in response to serious violations by Israel of international and human rights.
“Pakistan shows solidarity with the Palestinian people and shares hope with the international community for the effective implementation of this resolution to ensure respect for international law and the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people,” the Foreign Ministry said.
In addition, the FO stated that the UNHRC special session and its decision to establish a permanent international inquiry commission into human rights violations represented a global determination to end systemic impunity and injustice and to initiate a process of substantial accountability.

On Thursday, the UNHRC decided to launch an open international investigation into abuses related to the recent violence in Gaza and “systemic” violations on the Palestinian territories and inside Israel.
The resolution, adopted by 24 of the 47 council members, will create an unprecedented level of control over abuses and their “root causes” in the long-running Middle East conflict.
