‘Our Security Agencies’ are a source of pride for us : Babar Azam

After receiving information about possible security threats, the New Zealand cricket team withdrew from their upcoming tour of Pakistan just hours before the first match was set to begin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to a statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Prime Minister Imran Khan personally spoke with Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, and informed her that Pakistan has “one of the best intelligence systems in the world” and that there is “no security threat of any kind” to the visiting team.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, expressed his displeasure with the postponement of the series against New Zealand. Many other players expressed their dissatisfaction with this decision.

‘The New Zealand team’s security personnel have expressed satisfaction with the security measures established by the government throughout their stay,’ according to the statement, which also stated that the PCB was eager to resume the matches.

“Cricket fans in Pakistan and around the world would be saddened by this last-minute pullout,” the Pakistan Cricket Board stated in a statement.
