Speaking to reporters after dinner at Zardari’s home in Islamabad, Bilawal said it created the false impression that some senators from the opposition party were deliberately wasting their votes.
He claims that all PDM senators voted for Yousaf Raza Gillani. There are no divisions in the opposition alliance, he said, adding that all opposition parties are united under the umbrella of the PDM.

The leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, today submitted his resignation from the party leadership meeting in the opposition alliance.
According to a source familiar with the discussions in the opposition alliance, the PDM chairman contacted PML-N’s Secretary-General, Shahid Hakan Abasi, and discussed the possibility of resigning from the meeting.
“Apart from leading the long journey to Islamabad, the PDM should also consider withdrawing from the meeting,” the JUI-F chairman said in the conversation, adding that the move ran counter to the current government as it could prove effective.
