Asif Ali Zardari, the former president of Pakistan and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has been ordered to appear before an accountability court on September 29.
It is involved in a graft investigation involving dubious transactions totaling more than Rs8 billion.
Zardari has been served with a subpoena, which requires him to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The indictment names him as a co-accused as well as other individuals. In this case, the reference was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
