According to a release from NUST, the university will run a 5-day training course on machine learning and its various applications to develop a better understanding of the rapidly growing field of machine learning and related systems. “This seminar will help participants become familiar with the basic architectures and algorithms used to recognize and identify objects, and gain hands-on experience training deep learning models,” said the University circular.
The event will take place from March 1 to 5, 2021 between 10:00 and 17:00 and will allow participants to participate in training remotely via Zoom.

The training is carried out by well-known experts in locations such as Prof. Dr. Faisal Shafayt and Dr. Mohamed Shahzad appears. This is done in collaboration with key stakeholders such as HEC and the transportation department, with a 50% discount for existing students.
Pakistan currently has no experience with machine learning due to brain drain and outdated curriculum that fails to meet the changing needs of various technologies. However, steps have been taken to bridge the gap between the supply and demand for machine learning experts from institutions like NUST.
