The number of people killed as a result of the devastating rains in Balochistan has risen to 39, not considering the hundreds of people who are still missing in various parts of the province.
Mir Zia Lango and Sardar Babar Khan Musakhel, both ministers in the Balochistan government, held a news conference in which they elaborated on the natural disasters that were caused by the recent spell of heavy rainfall.
According Sardar Babar Khan Musakhel, he went to the office of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to check out the emergency precautions that have been taken to protect the lives and possessions of the local populace.
According to Mir Zia Lango, the weather forecast for the upcoming day in several parts of Balochistan calls for a significant amount of precipitation. As a direct result of the recent spate of rain that hit the region, the capital city of the province, Quetta, sustained significant damage to both its people and their property.
The minister gave his word that the provincial administration will stand by the people of the province through this trying period and not abandon them. As a result of the monsoon season, enormous losses have also been sustained by the agricultural community, he added.
He acknowledged that there have been 39 deaths reported so far across the province of Balochistan. There were multiple reports of residents going missing, including eight in the city of Quetta and four in the city of Qilla Abdullah.
Sherry Rehman, who is the Minister for Climate Change, stated earlier in the day that the ongoing monsoon rains have resulted in the deaths of 77 people thus far.

Today, while speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, she stated that what is happening is, in fact, a national tragedy. She mentioned that the highest number of deaths, 39, had been reported in the province of Balochistan.
Radio Pakistan cited comments made by the minister of climate change regarding the preparation of a national monsoon contingency plan by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). She stated that the provinces, districts, and people all need to remain vigilant in order to decrease the number of casualties that are a result of the monsoon rains.
