‘No leniency to Imran Khan,’ Fazl advises PM Shahbaz

JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday urged Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to “show no mercy” to Imran Khan, calling his bullet wounds a “drama.”

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Fazl said, “The federal government and PM Shahbaz Sharif must not show leniency to Imran Khan.”

Expressing his reservations over Khan’s injury, the president of the ruling alliance — the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — claimed that Khan was not ready to move to another hospital except Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Taking a shot at Khan, the JUI-F chairman stated, “Treatment of bullet wounds is being carried out at a cancer hospital.”

Unrest is being produced among the population by exploiting the benefit of the “accident”, he said, adding that Khan has misled everyone.

‘Imran left behind Shah Rukh and Salman in acting’
The JUI-F chief said Khan had outperformed Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in acting. There are contradictions in the medical report of the “liar,” he noted.

“Baseless claims are being levelled against significant personalities,” the JUI-F president stated, adding that Khan’s lies should be scrutinised and inquiries should be conducted into such lies,” he said.

He questioned the number of shots fired at Khan, those that impacted him, and if he was injured on both legs.

“Fragments of bullets were hit. Where did these fragments come from?” Fazl stated while outlining specifics of the attack as explained by PTI.

The head of the PDM said that the security of the long march in Punjab was up to the province’s government and that Khan’s lies should be looked into.

PTI’s lengthy march has failed, he added.

Hakeem Sanaullah prepares “prescription”
Talking about PTI’s continuous march towards Islamabad, the JUI-F leader said,” “Hakeem Sanaullah has prepared medication for it.”

“Nobody shall be permitted to play with Pakistan,” he stated and asked the federal government to deal with the demonstrators firmly.

“No leniency with them [PTI marchers],” he stressed.

‘Fake cypher’
The JUI-F president also commented regarding the cypher, which, as said by Khan and his party members, was the reason behind his government’s departure in April.

“He waved the false cypher after being fired for lack of confidence. A bipartisan investigative committee should investigate how a bogus letter was waved before the nation. A complaint should be initiated for misrepresenting a state secret,” Fazl maintained, adding that Khan wants an army head of his choice.

On Arshad Sharif’s ‘threat letter’
The PDM chairman asked where a “threat letter” sent to murdered journalist Arshad Sharif was. He said, “In Arshad Sharif’s case, it was proven that he was taken abroad because of a threat letter. Locate it. There is one copy of the threat letter, which is with the [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] chief minister.”

Fazl emphasised that when a threat letter is issued, it reaches officials of various institutions so that they can follow the terrorists. He said that no one has the letter’s copy.

He urged that if an investigative committee is constituted to probe Sharif’s killing, then Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief executive and provincial ministers should also be investigated.

You’ll be stuck like you are in a closed alley if an investigation is done. “Khan is lying to keep himself alive,” the PDM chief claimed.

The JUI-F president also criticised the FIA-declared false obscene films of PTI Senator Azam Khan Swati.

“I’m not comfortable talking about this,” PDM’s head said.
