NIE successfully developed Pakistan’s first electronic voting machine

The National Institute of Electronics (NIE) has finally successfully tested Pakistan’s first electronic voting machine. Federal Minister Chaudhry Fawad was introduced to the first model by the NIE team.

After seeing the successful machine testing, the minister stated that this device would provide transparency and eliminate the problem of election fraud.

The device consists of two main parts, the first part consists of optional symbols, while the second part controls the engine which is authorized by the chairman. In this way, the chairman can control the device when the voter wants to vote. Voters can select one of the icons in the booth and click on it. In addition, the device can print newsletters along with their basic functionality.

Work on the tools is currently in the final stages and will soon be forwarded to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), and COMSATS.

With a history of electoral fraud and injustice, this tool is sure to disrupt the entire electoral system in Pakistan.
