According to weather forecasts by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), new spells of rain with wind and thunderstorms expected in various parts of the country from Friday. The Met Office said wet currents from the Arabian Sea are likely to strike the eastern part of the country.

In new spells of Rain/Thunderstorms with occasional moderate to heavy rains will occur in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan (Astore, Ghanche and Shigar). Moreover in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat. It also expected in Narowal, Sialkot, Lahore, Kasur. In KPK region includes Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Buner, Dir, Shangla and Kohistan.
Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall can occasionally cause urban flooding in the lowlands of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Jhelum and Rawalpindi on Saturday/Sunday.
According to the director of the meteorological department, the monsoon season in Pakistan will start on July 1. It will initially start in the southeastern part of Sindh.
