Netflix will release Dwayne Johnson’s “Red Notice”

Dwayne Johnson’s latest picture, the global Netflix heist caper “Red Notice,” aims to amuse audiences in their home rooms.

Johnson co-stars with Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds in the film about stealing three priceless relics. After a week in select cinemas, the film will be available on Netflix starting Friday.

The film is one of Netflix’s most costly ever, costing around $200 million.

Star of blockbusters like “Jumanji” and “Furious 7,” Johnson said it was necessary to give at-home streaming of movies that previously were exclusively available in theatres.

“I know a few colleagues will disagree with me,” Johnson told Reuters. For me, it’s all about the people and how they want to be treated, and many people want to watch movies at home.

The Bishop, an international art thief, sets up Johnson’s FBI agent John Hartley in “Red Notice” (Gadot).

So he joins The Bishop’s strongest rival, Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds).

“I think Dwayne’s fighting technique is brutalist, like his (WWE) life,” Reynolds remarked, whereas Gadot’s “is athletic and elegant.”

“My character usually just runs away from the fight,” Reynolds added.

“Red Notice” was written just before COVID-19 hit the planet in early 2020. Months of filming were postponed due to the health situation.

“It was really a pretty hectic environment, but our crew took us to the finish line,” Gadot remarked. (Reuters)
