In response to the continuing fifth wave of coronavirus, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has declared that existing Nonpharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) will be extended until 15 February 2022.
Following the publication of a notification on Friday, the NCOC stated that current NPIs that were previously implemented through the end of January 2022 has been extended until the end of February 2022.
“A new evaluation will be conducted on February 10, 2022,” according to the statement.
It went on to say that all federating units were urged to send notices and distribute them to everyone who was affected as soon as possible.
The NCOC, which serves as the nerve center of the country’s anti-Covid operation, has issued a warning that the Omicron variety is continuing to spread throughout the country.

“Please make sure you are properly vaccinated, have had a booster dose (if eligible), and are following SOPs, which include wearing a mask and avoiding social situations.” Take extra care of the elderly, as the number of admissions and mortality rates among the elderly are higher,” the organization stated in a statement.
According to data released by the NCOC on Friday, at least 8183 instances have been recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the positive ratio up to 11.92 percent, while 30 deaths have also been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 29,192.
According to the National Command and Operation Center, 1,786 people recovered from COVID-19 during this time period, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 1,274,657, with 1,353 patients in critical condition.
The Sindh province has been the most severely affected by the pandemic, with 535,965 illnesses reported. The Punjab province has reported 471,925 infections, making it the second most severely afflicted region.
In spite of the fact that the pandemic had been nearly entirely contained before the emergence of Omicron in late December, the number of cases has been steadily increasing since then, and the outbreak has been dubbed “the fifth wave of the pandemic.”
