Nawaz Sharif criticizes Shehbaz Sharif for his ineffective strategy against Govt

Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), chastised his younger brother, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, on Sunday for adopting a weak strategy against the administration in the country.

People are aware of the differences that exist between Nawaz Sharif and the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly; nevertheless, these divisions are now becoming apparent in the party’s annual conference.

In a meeting chaired by the former prime minister, the Bol news channel reported that the former prime minister inquired of his younger brother as to why the PML-N did not stage protests against the government in a separate manner from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties.

He claimed that the PDM was a movement, whereas the PML-N was an organization with a distinct identity. He also inquired as to why workers’ conventions were not conducted on a regular basis in the districts and tehsils where he lived.

Also questioning the walkout during the joint session of the parliament, Nawaz Sharif stated that had the party members remained in the building and protests had continued inside, the government would not have been able to pass legislation as quickly as it would have liked if the walkout had not occurred. It was impossible for him to say how he thought success could be gained in the future if this was the party’s policy.

He tasked the party with leading an effective opposition movement against the administration and holding consultative meetings with members of the public. Shehbaz reassured him that he would help to re-energize the party’s efforts.
