Nawaz Sharif advised not to travel: Medical report

Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has been receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom since 2019. A new medical report was given to the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday.

In the report, the PML-N chief’s doctors have advised him not to travel back to Pakistan due to a medical condition

“During my recent evaluation, I found Mr. Sharif under a lot of stress, if he returns to Pakistan without undergoing a definitive treatment in London, the stress of living again in a solitary confinement, as well as the loss of a partner, can further compromise his cardiac status before definitive treatment can be rendered,” Dr. Fayaz Shawl said in the report.

The COVID-19 problem is currently affecting the world, and he should avoid flying and/or visiting public areas such as airports at all costs.”

According to the report, Nawaz Sharif has improved “slightly as a result of medical therapy, but more so as a result of no longer being held in solitary confinement.” Once the Covid crisis has passed, he should proceed with his coronary angiography, which may include angioplasty or a redo coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) if intervention is not possible, according to the reports.

As the doctor explained, “my assessment regarding his journey to Pakistan and the implications of that travel on his health remains the same as it has been in several previous medical reports.” “In my opinion, he should also remain in close proximity to the facilities where he has been receiving therapy up until the Covid-19 until he receives coronary angiography.”
