Natanz Attack: Iran decided to increase highest enrichment

The attack on Iran’s Natanz large nuclear facility after a huge explosion sparked a “dangerous spiral” and Iran is blaming Israel for this situation. Officials say that the Israel is always doing these type of irresponsible acts to threat its regional oppositions. It has consistently promised to prevent Iran from building an atomic bomb – a case it sees as an existential threat.

On the other side, Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement. Whereas a public broadcasts in the country say it was a sabotage operation by a Mossad spy agency.

Iranian President said that, “We decided to increase uranium enrichment to 60 percent to counter Israel’s “nuclear terrorism” against its Natanz facility”. The move would bring Iran closer to the 90 purity threshold. For military purposes, it would shorten its potential “breakthrough time” for building an atomic bomb.

He added, “Tehran is bringing state-of-the-art centrifuges to market and producing more refined uranium in response to your hatred”. By referring that Natanz attack, he also said, “What you are doing is nuclear terrorism. Also What we do is legal”.

The United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency said its inspectors are continuing their inspection and surveillance activities in Iran. Also now at the Natanz enrichment site after attacks.

World’s concerns on this decision

European contractors – Great Britain, France and Germany – raised “serious concerns” about the enrichment process in Iran. They rejected “escalation measures by participants”. Iran’s regional rival, Saudi Arabia, also expressed concern by calling on Tehran to “avoid escalation”.

Tehran’s announcement of increase enrichment overshadows talks in Vienna aimed at salvaging the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

Iran warned United States after Natanz Attack

Iranian Minister Jawad Zarif warned US President Joe Biden that the only way to control the situation was to lift Trump’s sanctions on Iran in 2018. There is no other way.

Iran’s envoy to the IAEA also tweeted that preparatory steps for a bastion of higher purity had begun and that we hope to have product in stock next week”.
