Nairobi-Islamabad flight carried journalist Arshad Sharif’s corpse

Arshad Sharif’s mortal remains left Nairobi at 1:25am on Tuesday. Doha will transport Arshad Sharif’s corpse to Islamabad.

On Sunday, Kenyan police shot and killed Arshad Sharif in a “mistaken identity case” on the Nairobi-Magadi highway.

Local police told the media that they were told to stop a car like the one Arshad Sharif and his driver were driving that was involved in a carjacking in Nairobi in which a child was taken.

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Kenyan President William Ruto to urge a fair investigation into the murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.

The prime minister expressed Pakistani and media concerns to the Kenyan president about the tragedy.

He also promised to release the investigation report and expedite the journalist’s body return.
