When the Motorola Moto Razr 2022 comes out, it will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip, which is another foldable phone. After almost three months in China, the clamshell folding phone is leaving the country. Even though it is first only available in Europe, it should soon ship to other continents.
When did compare to the high-end features and specs of the Galaxy Z Flip, the new Razr 2022 is a huge improvement over its predecessor. Motorola foldable phone goes head-to-head with the best in the business.
The main screen is an OLED that folds out to 6.7 inches and has thinner bezels and a smaller hole for the front-facing camera than previous models. It’s a 1080p 144Hz panel with 10-bit colors and also HDR10+. The hinge already does make it both stronger and easier to use. The outside display is still 2.7 inches in size and has the same resolution (573 x 800).
Some of its most noticeable changes are under the hood. It goes from Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 710 SoC to the company’s best Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. In addition to being much faster, this setup now supports as much as 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
This time, there are two real cameras on the back. There is a 50MP 1/1.55′′ primary sensor with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide camera. Video sometimes did take at 8K at 30 FPS and 4K at 60 FPS. The front-facing camera has gone up from 5MP to a much higher number (now 32MP).
The battery capacity is now 3,500 mAh, up 1,000 mAh, and also the fast charging power is now 30W, up 10W.
Moto’s 2022 Razr is more expensive than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 in Europe, with a starting price of €1,200.
