More Than 15 Hotels Sealed in Murree For Overcharging

The Rawalpindi district administration sealed more than fifteen hotels in Murree on Tuesday for overcharging tourists, according to reports.

According to a statement released by the district administration, the action was taken as a result of complaints received via social media and at the Murree control room, which were investigated by the Murree assistant commissioner.

Separately, Rawalpindi police detained a guy today on suspicion of swindling stranded tourists under the pretense of assisting them in Murree, according to police.

The district administration closed down a hotel in Murree for reportedly charging high rents and selling food at high prices to stranded tourists after the disaster that struck the hill resort last week.

After finishing the investigation, the DC Rawalpindi asked authorities to close the Murree hotel, which was allegedly charging trapped guests Rs20,000 a night on the day of the incident, forcing officials to move quickly.

It is important to note that at least 22 tourists who were stranded in their automobiles owing to heavy snowfall died as a result of the severe weather in Murree on Friday night should be taken into consideration.

In the initial investigative report of the Murree disaster, the administrative flaws that occurred during the flood of tourists to the scenic hill station during a snowfall were revealed.
