Mob lynched Sri Lankan factory manager in Sialkot

In Sialkot, a Sri Lankan national who was employed as a manager at a private manufacturing facility was beaten to death by a mob, and his body was then set on fire by the mob because of supposed blasphemy.

According to initial accounts, the event occurred on Friday on Wazirabad Road in Sialkot, which is where the majority of the city’s factories are located.

Omer Saeed Malik, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sialkot, revealed that Priyantha Kumara was a Sri Lankan national who had been staying in the city for some time. He went on to say that Kumara was violently beaten to death by employees of private factories and that his body was then set ablaze by a mob of onlookers.

In a statement, he stated that an investigation into the murder of the export manager, who happened to be a Sri Lankan national, was underway. “I am unable to discuss the motive for this murder with you at this time because the inquiry is still ongoing,” he said.

On condition of anonymity, a police officer told that, in addition to killing the manager, workers had vandalized the factory where Sri Lankan was employed and barricaded the highways leading to the location.

“The DPO acted swiftly after getting information about the incident, and a large contingent quickly arrived on the scene to try and maintain law and order.” “Traffic was restored after successful negotiations with the enraged mob and protestors,” the spokesman stated.

A large group of men assembled in the area and chanted slogans, according to video footage of the incident that has gone popular on the internet.

Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has taken note of the “horrific” occurrence and has asked Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rao Sardar Ali Khan to “thoroughly” probe the case.

“I am really taken aback by the horrible incident in Sialkot.” I’ve directed the Inspector General’s Office to conduct a comprehensive investigation. No one has the authority to take the law into their own hands. Please be certain that anyone who participated in this horrible conduct will not be spared!! ” CM Buzdar expressed his views.
