Ministry of IT shares draft CERT rules with stakeholders

Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication say that the rules for the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) already do publish and that the draft of the rules already does share with the stakeholders.

The officials say that the ministry did ask the groups for their final thoughts on the CERT rules and also that the draft rules do send to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the banking sector, and other ministries. The draft does give to the Office of the General Registration Authority (OGRA). The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), and others.

LahoreHerald said that after the audio recordings are then did make public, the Prime Minister’s Office set up a committee to look into what did happen. The Ministry of Information Technology and the National Telecommunication and Information Security Board are just two of the groups that were on the inquiry committee (NTISB). Officials say that the rules are sent to the Cabinet Committee for the Disposal of Legislative Cases (CCLC) after proposals from different groups are therefore did receive. After the CCLC approves the rules, they are did send to the Federal Cabinet for final approval.
