The All Karachi Milk Welfare Company wishes to enable its stores in the city to be open till midnight.
In Karachi, from 31 July to 8 August the Sindh government enforced a lockdown. Milk stores can be open till 6pm during the lock-down.
The group stated that milk dealers should be exempted from the limits on the functioning of the supply chain for dairy products.
Milk will first in the morning, and again in the evening, be distributed to shops, it added.
If the business closes at 6pm, they say, the store owners would incur significant losses.
It asked the Chief Secretary to grant milk dealers exemptions, as was the case at the previous lock-in.
