Maryam Nawaz said she accepted the resignation of 159 Punjab MPs

PML-N vice president Mariam Nawaz said she accepted the resignation of 159 out of the 160 Punjab MPs.

This resignation was submitted to the party spokesman. However, She did not say when the spokesman would accept the resignation.

Mariam spoke to the media about the Shehbaz-Durani meeting, her trip to Sukkur, the PDM’s future plans, the resignation of lawmakers and others, before leaving for Sukkur on Saturday.

The day before, Fazlur Rehman from JUI-F and Mariam from PML-N rejected the large-scale dialogue proposal with the government that was recently discussed during a meeting of Ali Durani from PML-F and Shehbaz Sharif from prison.

“Benazir Bhutto Shaheed fights for democracy and gives her life for the country. Nawaz Sharif and Bibi Shahid have signed a democracy charter for the country. Bilawal and I will promote the charter for democracy,” said Mariam.

She said the party will decide when to step down as chairman of the assembly.

The Vice President of PML-N will arrive in Sukur together with other PML-N leaders via the Sukur-Multan Toll Road. She will address the Thanksgiving Workers Congress today (Saturday) at 6pm and meet with party leaders in town.

Your visit comes as the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) prepares for the second phase of its anti-government efforts. When someone is imprisoned, they don’t know who will pick them up, Mariam said when asked about Durani and Shehbaz’s meeting.

“Suddenly you are being told in prison that someone is going to pick you up,” She said.

She said Shehbaz was loyal to his brother Nawaz Sharif and was jailed with his son because of it. “If Shehbaz Sharif is not loyal, he will be prime minister himself today,” said Mariam.

“Even before Durani met Shehbaz, we had been contacted by the government minister,” She said, adding that it was clear there would be no talks with this sham government.

“It’s strange if family members meet where family members aren’t allowed to meet.” She asked.
